[Considering that some of Sylvan's clients do use his creations for what most would consider criminal activity, he honestly wouldn't feel too bad about knowing that money's origins. Maybe one day, if Marik feels comfortable with it, but no sooner.]

Still, for such a large sum, if you feel like asking for further compensation, I will listen and see what I can do.

[Because despite Marik's earlier assertions, the exchange doesn't feel equal. It feels... different.]

I know and remember that you said that we are "even" on the matter. It's just hard for me to see it for myself.

[ Hmmm....Marik considers this, idly working a piece of tomato inside his cheek. He knows the benevolent thing to do is to insist they're free and clear, but Sylvan seems so sincere....and Marik honestly can't say he's ever had anybody come try to give him things he hasn't tricked them into giving him before.

Is he just so good, is he just so charismatic, that this happens anyway? Wow. He amazes himself. ]

If it eases your mind, I'll consider it. What would you suggest?

[When he's not brushed off again that they're even, Sylvan relaxes a little, gaze dipping away to regard his phone's screen. Or, rather, the blinking insertion point while the device waits for his input.

[His lips purse. He wasn't considering that he'd be asked whatever act to suggest. Rather, most people know something that they want. Does Marik want for things he can't give?

[Sylvan's cheeks burn a little, and hopefully it doesn't give the wrong impression.

I rightly don't know.

[ Sylvan's blushing a lot today. It's amusing. And endearing. Marik likes having an effect on people. ]

[Along with the message, he sends an image of it from the outside. It's a tower clustered within a rural town, easily dwarfing the other homes in vertical height alone.]

I know it's a little strange-looking.

[ Huh, look at that! Marik is no stranger to unusual architecture, though most of his experiences have been....lacking in aesthetic. Also, subterranean.

Which means he's snapped right out of Schemer back into Oh My Gods Look At The Shiny. He has this issue. Or at least, he's been told it's an issue. It seems to have netted him a motorcycle collection so he's never perceived it as such. ]
